INTERNAL

Sewer

Sewer is provided by the Town of Pembroke, North Carolina. Pembroke has a 1.3 million gallons per day plant with an excess capacity of 900,000 gallons per day; easily expandable to support any foreseeable development within COMtech.

Water

Water is provided by Robeson County via a 10-inch or 12-inch main line system both surrounding and within the COMtech site. This system has a 20,672,000 gallons per day capacity with an excess of 11,473,000 gpd to support any foreseeable development within COMtech.

Electricity

COMtech is served by Lumbee River Electric Membership Corporation. Major transmission lines and a substantial substation adjacent to COMtech enable the corporation to meet any power needs. Lumbee River EMC currently serves over 45,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers, and in addition, provides electric services for the 50,000 plus soldiers and airmen at Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base.

Natural Gas

The North Carolina Natural Gas Corporation operates a major transmission line and distribution service less than one mile from COMtech. Sufficient utilization is required to amortize the extension of service into COMtech. This can be accomplished rapidly. Lesser use propane and natural gas requirements can be met on-site.

Telecommunications

Telecommunication services are provided by AT&T. These include digital and copper, OSDN, Frame Relay, CC57, digital fiber optics, internet access, DSL and ATM. COMtech is two miles from a major E-W/N-S LD POP. AOL Time Warner offers cable and high speed internet access. The Public Schools of Robeson County and The University of North Carolina at Pembroke’s facilities within COMtech are served by broadband, digital, fiber optics service, with both supporting teleconferencing capabilities. These systems may also be available to business and industry for a fee.  The Lumbee River Electric Membership Cooperation provides high speed, wireless internet connection at very favorable rates to businesses.

Workforce

Robeson County has a workforce of over 50,000, with over 200,000 available within a one hour drive. It is also near Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base – sources of highly trained workers who leave the Military and seek to exploit their skills in the private sector.
